Dyno Tuning That Makes Every PBD Tune Better

Palm Beach Dyno operates our dyno every day for customer tuning, vehicle development, and calibration validation. It is not simply a tool we use for occasional R&D. The constant flow of vehicles through our facility gives PBD an enormous advantage in both in-person dyno tuning and remote tuning.

The PBD Advantage

One Dyno. Two Businesses. One Constant Feedback Loop.

Palm Beach Dyno operates two major tuning businesses: in-person dyno tuning and remote tuning. They are not separate operations. Each continuously improves the other. Every vehicle tuned in our facility adds to our understanding of the platforms we support. Every improvement developed through remote tuning can be validated again on vehicles running in our dyno facility.

The more cars we tune, the more data we collect.
The more data we collect, the better every PBD calibration becomes.

Why Our Dyno Customers Benefit From Our Remote Tuning Volume

You Are Never Just “One Car” to Us

When a customer brings a vehicle to Palm Beach Dyno for dyno tuning, chances are extremely high that we have already tuned the same platform, engine, transmission, power adder, fuel type, or a very similar combination many times before. Our remote tuning operation exposes our calibration team to a huge number of vehicles and combinations — that creates a massive real-world knowledge base.

A typical dyno shop may see a specific vehicle combination occasionally. PBD may have already seen the same vehicle, the same supercharger, the same turbo system, the same fuel system, the same transmission, the same fuel, the same common calibration issue, and the same drivability problem — across customers throughout the country and around the world.

When your vehicle goes on our dyno,
we are bringing the experience gained from thousands of other tuning sessions with us.

Why Remote Customers Benefit From Our Daily Dyno Operation

Remote Tunes Validated in the Real World, Every Day

Many remote tuning businesses develop a calibration using one development vehicle, a handful of vehicles, or sometimes no ongoing in-house dyno validation at all. PBD operates differently. Our remote calibrations are continuously exposed to vehicles running on our own dyno, which lets us continually validate and refine:

  • Power, torque & air/fuel ratio
  • Spark strategy & boost control
  • Camshaft strategy & transmission behavior
  • Torque management & throttle behavior
  • Fuel system performance & thermal behavior
  • Overall drivability

Our remote tunes do not stop evolving when the original development car leaves the dyno.
They continue to be tested against real vehicles every day.

The Dyno Is About More Than Peak Horsepower

A Great Tune Is More Than a Dyno Number

Peak horsepower matters. But customers live with the vehicle everywhere between idle and wide-open throttle. Our dyno allows us to evaluate much more than maximum power.

We don't tune a car just to survive a dyno pull.
We tune it to work everywhere.

Continuous Calibration Development

Every Day Is R&D

Formal R&D projects certainly happen at PBD, but the real advantage is that development never really stops. Every customer vehicle presents another opportunity to confirm existing strategies, discover platform differences, identify factory software changes, compare hardware combinations, validate new calibration strategies, find drivability improvements, refine transmission behavior, improve safety strategies, and identify hardware limitations.

A calibration developed three years ago should not necessarily be identical to one delivered today. PBD tunes continuously evolve as we collect more data.

Our customers benefit from everything we learned yesterday,
not just what we knew when a tune was originally developed.

Volume Creates Knowledge

There Is No Substitute for Repetition

Performance tuning contains countless variables. Two vehicles that appear identical can behave differently because of manufacturing tolerances, fuel quality, weather, elevation, hardware differences, software revisions, transmission differences, sensor variation, installation differences, and vehicle mileage. The only way to understand those differences is to see enough vehicles.

PBD's combination of remote tuning volume and daily dyno tuning exposes our calibration team to a much larger dataset than a tuner working with only occasional local vehicles.

What Happens During a PBD Dyno Session

01

Vehicle Evaluation

Confirm vehicle condition, modifications, fuel, and tuning objectives.

02

Baseline Data

Evaluate the current calibration and vehicle behavior where appropriate.

03

Calibration Development

Adjust the calibration based on the vehicle combination and collected data.

04

Controlled Dyno Testing

Test power, fueling, ignition, boost, torque control, and other relevant parameters.

05

Drivability Validation

Verify that the calibration works outside of a single wide-open-throttle pull.

06

Final Review

Confirm that the vehicle is operating consistently and that the calibration matches the customer's intended use.

Our dyno customers benefit from our remote tuning scale. Our remote customers benefit from our daily dyno operation. Both sides continuously improve the other.

Experience Matters. Data Matters More.

Decades of Experience Backed by Constant New Data

Experience gives PBD the ability to interpret what we see. Volume gives us more opportunities to see it. The dyno gives us a controlled environment to verify it. Remote tuning gives us an enormous real-world sample.

Together, they create an operation that is difficult for a traditional dyno shop or remote-only tuner to duplicate.
